Description
We are very proud to present the inaugural Athletic Evolution Conference in conjunction with Edinburgh Leisure Community Sports Hubs, to be held at Vantage Point, Edinburgh on April 15th.
The Athletic Evolution Conference aims to provide delegates with presentations and practical sessions that address the latest research, theory and practices within the field of Strength and Conditioning concerning the development of youth athletes.
The conference is open to coaches, PE teachers, students and athletes aged over 18 from any sport who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of S&C for youth athletes.
This will be a unique opportunity for a host of experts to present on an array of topics relating to the long term development of young athletes...

Keynote Speaker Biographies
Simon Brundish
Simon is an alumni of the University of Birmingham and Loughborough University. He has 21 years of experience in Sports Science and Strength and Conditioning, working within professional and amateur Basketball, Football, Cricket and Athletics. Simon is also the owner of StrengthLab Ltd. For the last 4 years Simon has been developing and implementing the StrengthLab Superheroes programme, a unique and innovative Fundamental Movement skills programme for primary aged children. This programme has been adopted by many primary schools, professional sports academies and sporting national governing bodies worldwide.
Shane Fitzgibbon
Shane is an international presenter and strength and conditioning coach, based in Galway, Ireland. He is a professional, 7th degree Master Black Belt, martial arts instructor and, as a retired athlete from this field, is a 6-time World Champion in Taekwondo & Kickboxing. He was voted International Youth Coach of the Year 2015, by the International Youth Conditioning Association (IYCA), making history as the first winner outside of North America. Shane is currently a Youth Fitness Specialist Level 3, Speed and Agility Specialist, Kettlebell Instructor, Olympic Lift Instructor, Youth Nutrition Specialist, Resistance Band Instructor, and High School S&C Coach, as certified by the IYCA. He recently presented at the Irish Physical Education Conference, as well as being identified in the Future Leaders program for the 2016 Child to Champion Conference.
Howard Green
Howard has been the Head of Strength & Conditioning at USN Bolton Arena High Performance Tennis Academy for 8 years. Howard is experienced at preparing Professional and Junior players at WTA, ATP, ITF and Tennis Europe levels, most notably working with two world number one athletes Ana Ivanovic and Laura Massaro (squash). He is a UKSCA accredited S&C coach, an iTPA Certified Tennis Performance Specialist and has a First Class Hons degree in Sports Coaching – including several coaching qualifications. Prior to coaching Howard spent 6 years in the Royal Marines Commandos, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Dr Jonathan Griffin
Jonathan (Griff) has been involved in sport science support of athletes for 15+ years, with experience of working in the UK and USA across football, rugby, pentathlon, fencing, and para-triathlon. Griff is currently the Head of Research and Innovation at Fulham FC Category 1 academy, having previous being the Head of Fulham FC’s Academy Exercise Science department during the EPPP re-audit process. Griff is a UKSCA accredited strength and conditioning coach, and is awaiting confirmation of his BASES Football accreditation. Academically, Griff has an undergraduate BSc sport and exercise science degree (University of Brighton), and a masters (Loughborough University) and PhD (University of Surrey) in applied performance physiology.
