Online event
Hear how family farms and small producers are attracting tourism through fresh local produce, farm stays and unique food experiences.
About this event
Central Scotland’s agricultural landscape is home to a fantastic array of food and drink producers. The region is also a pioneer of the NeighbourFood markets movement in Scotland, and now boasts 8 collection points for local food & drink, making it easier than ever for locals and tourists alike to shop directly with farmers and food makers.
Forth Valley Food & Drink Network Coordinator, Carolyn McGill, will talk about work to showcase local food & drink businesses, and demonstrate how this can transform the region into a leading food and drink tourism destination.
Alison Younger of Old Leckie Farm, and Regional Ambassador for Go Rural Scotland will discuss how agritourism is connecting visitors to family farms and small food & drink producers in Scotland, through high quality and memorable experiences while caring for the environment and protecting Scotland’s landscapes for everyone to enjoy.
This event is ideal for anyone who wants to hear how connecting visitors with local food can add value to their tourism experience, boost the local economy, and work in harmony with the environment.
Talks will be followed by an informal Q&A session.
