Description

This 7 week course is an adapted version of our evidence based ‘Time Out for Special Needs’ programme and has the attachment theory underpinning all modules.

This course is open to parents and carers with long term placements including adopters, long-term foster carers and special guardians of children and young people who have experienced trauma of separation or loss and have special needs and/or disabilities who are living in Reading, Wokingham or West Berkshire.

This course runs on Wednesdays between 10:30am and 12:30pm on the following dates: 24th Jan, 31st Jan, 7th Feb, 21st Feb, 28th Feb, 7th Mar & 14th Mar. This is then followed by an extra optional 2 weeks on Sleep.

  • Building blocks of Attachment
  • Understanding & managing behaviour
  • Stress & resilience
  • Life story work
  • School issues for LAAC, EHCP, Pupil Premium etc.
  • Secondary trauma to carers
