What do you need to apply for this course?

You need to be a resident within Sunderland and is open to anyone over the age of 19 and willing to dedicate your time to learning. There is no previous experience or knowledge needed.

What are the key things you will learn?

Day One: What is Attchment?

  • Explore your attachment type
  • Understand your emotional availability for your child/children
  • How does your attachment style affect your adult relationships?

Day Two: Attachment Types

  • Look at your attachment ype
  • Look at you child/children's attachment type
  • How your attachment type can have an effect on your parenting style
  • Evaluate communication styles with your child and theirs with you.

Day Three: Communication and Relationship Building

  • How do you communicate with your child/children?
  • How do you build relationships with your child/children?
  • To create ways to increase family cohesion

Day Four: Reflection

  • To Increase confidence and Self-esteem
  • To increase Self-awareness and empower
  • To develop positive coping strategies and support networks

Day Five: Understanding Why Attachment Matters

  • To improve and manage relationships with others, particularly their children
  • Reduce symptons related to your mental health issues
  • Improve communication and understand your family unit and the family dynamics
  • Adddress negative relationship and communication patterns to increase wellbeing within their family unit
  • Progress to furthur learning and/or training

How will you learn?

You will learn through self-reflection, group discussion and group work. During the course, there will be many activites for the learners to get involved in as well as theory-based learning via PowerPoint.

Where could this course take you?

At the end of this course you will receive a certificate and be able to progress onto a similar course or any other community learning or accredited courses we can offer as well as any other local providers.
