About this event
- Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes
Many young people exhibit challenging behaviours that can be difficult to understand. During this webinar, we'll delve into the role of attachment theory in understanding these behaviours.
A knowledge of attachment really helps us to understand the young people we work with because relational security is paramount in youth work.
Learn how to get alongside and work with those hard to reach or challenging young people using an attachment framework.
This training will include:
- The fundamental principles of attachment theory and its impact on development.
- Learn to reframe behaviours in terms of attachment-seeking instead of attention-seeking.
- The practical implications of attachment theory for youth workers.
- Strategies for building secure attachments and fostering positive relationships.
- How to create a safe and supportive environment for young people with attachment difficulties.
Gain a deeper understanding of the underlying needs driving young people's behaviour and learn how to respond with empathy and effectiveness. Equip yourself with the knowledge to build stronger relationships and create lasting positive change in the lives of the young people you work with. This training is for anyone working with young people, providing valuable tools to navigate complex behaviours and build secure connections.
