Join us for a powerful two-day movement intensive led by Jayachandran Palazhy (Artistic Director, Attakkalari), Hemabharathy Palani (Rehearsal Director & Senior Dancer), and Nithin Kannoth (Kalarippayattu National Champion & Senior Practitioner).

What you'll experience:

Rooted in the physical intelligence of Indian traditions and infused with global contemporary influences, Attakkalari's approach blends principles from Kalarippayattu, Bharatanatyam, and Yoga into a dynamic and expressive movement language. This intensive guides dancers through a rigorous yet transformative process, focusing on breath, alignment, gravity, spatial awareness, and movement quality. Sessions begin with grounding breathwork, Yoga-based stretches, and cardiovascular warm-ups. You'll engage with the energetic circularity and precision of Kalarippayattu and the abstract geometry, rhythm, and articulation of Bharatanatyam through guided phrases and structured improvisation to explore both expansive and intricate movement while cultivating coordination, focus, and expressive presence.

Who should attend & why:

  • South Asian dancers across styles seeking to enrich their movement vocabulary
  • Practice that is rooted in tradition yet responsive to contemporary aesthetics
  • More than just training, it is a transformative artistic journey that is physically invigorating, intellectually stimulating, and creatively expansive

Open to dancers with prior experience in any somatic or movement-based practice. Limited spots available. Early registration recommended.
