Auchinleck instructor-led bike ride

Do you live in Auchinleck, Cumnock, Ochiltree or the surrounding areas and want to experience the local cycle routes in a safe group environment, whilst increasing your skills, confidence and fitness? These rides are designed especially with you in mind. Our trained ride leaders will safely escort you and there will even be a social coffee stop before the return journey. Beginners are welcome!

We ride 3 different routes, all starting from the same point, and details of each is below. Please check which route is running on your chosen date. They are designed to be progressive for the rider so book into the one which matches your current ability and then progress to the others from there!.

Start point: Park Road car park, Auchinleck - beside Auchinleck Train Station (KA18 2AB)

Important notes:

• You must be able to confidently cycle a bike for the advertised distance.
• A roadworthy bike and helmet are required to participate in this event.
• Pre-booking for this ride is essential. Maximum group size is currently 10 including Ride Managers.
• The ride will be delivered under Covid-19 guidance and participants must be prepared to adhere to social distancing requirements, alongside other Activity Terms and Conditions.

ROUTE 1

Distance - 10km: From Auchinleck to Boswell House via Barony A Frame. Return via same route. Fairly level route.

ROUTE 2

Distance - 17.4km: From Auchinleck, around the five mile cut loop and onwards to Boswell House in the Auchinleck Estate. Return to Auchinleck via Barony Road. Fairly level route with a few small inclines.

ROUTE 3

Distance - 18km : A clockwise circular route from Auchinleck out into the countryside to Lugar, through Cumnock town centre and onwards to the Dumfries House Estate (with a coffee stop at the cafe). Return to Auchinleck via quiet country roads. More challenging route with several steeper inclines, as well as a traffic light junction and a roundabout in Cumnock.
