What makes writing 'Gothic'? Find out more in this fun taster workshop where you will be guided to compose an atmospheric piece of writing using a series of prompts.

Author Barbara Stevenson enjoys experimenting with different genres, and has written fantasy, general fiction and historical whodunnits in addition to her interest in Gothic writing. Her latest novel, The Clockmaker of Perth, was published in 2024.


Suitable for beginners and more experienced writers. All materials provided. Minimum age 14. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult who does not need a separate ticket unless they wish to participate in the workshop. The event is free, guests can make a donation towards the Auchterarder Picturehouse Charity at the event. Refreshments available.

Please note that the venue is in an upstairs room of the Auchterarder Picturehouse that can only be accessed via a flight of stairs.
