Want to be a Narrator?

Whether you are a voice actor or an enthusiastic reader, audiobook naration can be rewarding and fun. It is however a very unique skill requiring specific knowledge from both an artistic and technical standpoint.

When I started I made mistakes and learned from them, buut I don't want others to have to make those mistakes.

That's why I am endeavouring to deliver everything you need to know to get started in one session.

What Will You Learn?

Prior to the session participants will receive access to a Google Drive folder with a selection of excerpts. They should select and rehearse 2 that they feel suit their casting and tastes.

Please be aware these extracts may contain spoilers for books you are reading

The 4 hour workshop will be split into 2 sections, consisting of a 2 hour presentation which will cover:

  • How to find work.
  • Working practices. e.g. Rates.
  • The Skill of Good Narration.
  • Character voicing & Multi gender voices.
  • A Step-by-Step guide to recording.
  • Technical and post-production guide.

Following a short break participants will read from their chosen excerpts and recieve feedback to help them improve.

Participants will also receive crib notes after the session on all subjects covered.
