Event description

Description

HOW WILL IT WORK?

A rare opportunity to help prepare your audition speeches with Annie Tyson. With years of experience of panel auditions Annie will investigate what makes the speech necessary at this particular moment in the play? How are you changed by the end of the speech? How can you create the specific circumstances if it's just you there? How do you leave those watching wanting more? What does the speech reveal about your possibilities as an actor?

The morning session will look at your chosen monologues from the contemporary repertoire and will examine and explore in detail how you can make choices that will bring the text alive vividly, with variation and specificity. The afternoon session workshop will look at ways of approaching complex/heightened text, making it live and real, as if spoken for the first time, while using the form of the language. Opening your hearts to those big actions and taking a risk! How to be real and poetic.

PREPARATION:

Please prepare one monologue from the Classical repertoire and one Contemporary speech. Each should be no more than 2 minutes long. You should bring a paper copy of the speech for Annie to use as reference.

INDUSTRY Q&A:

You are invited to attend the industry Q&A as part of the Speech Surgery which will be running in main hall in your lunch break. Bring your lunch and come in and join when you are released from your session.

COST: £60
