Event Details

In this workshop, Carl will provide feedback on both your audition technique and your headshot. Carl will provide you with pre-determined audition scenes that you will work on with another member of the group. Everybody will then have the opportunity to present their reading to the group and you will receive individual feedback from Carl. In addition you will be required to bring along your current acting headshot for discussion, review and feedback from a Casting Director’s perspective. Finally, there will be a Q + A session for the chance to ask any questions about the casting process.

Carl has been casting for over 20 years in Film, Television & Theatre. Having trained as an actor at RADA, Carl worked successfully for a number of years. He has produced and directed film and theatre and is now one of London's busiest casting directors, working mainly in film and TV. His many film credits include ‘Shadow of The Vampire’ with Willem Dafoe and John Malkovich, ‘The Wedding Date’ with Deborah Messing, Amy Adams and Dermot Mulroney, ‘Blood Creek’ with Michael Fassbender and directed by Joel Schumacher and Trevor Nunn's ‘Twelfth Night’. Recent TV includes ‘The Bible’ series. Initially seen on US TV in 2013, it has become the most successful mini series of all time.

Please note: The intent of the workshop is educational and should not be considered a job interview or audition. Attending workshops is not a way to obtain employment as an actor. The presence of a Casting Director is neither a guarantee nor a promise of employment. Contact with a Casting Director at a workshop rarely results in any further contact with that Casting Director or any company affiliated with that Casting Director. All participants should bring a hard copy of their current acting headshot to the workshop.
