Description

Passionate about performing? Hypnotised by history? Enthusiastic about Egham? We have an opportunity for you!

This year at Egham Museum the Suffrage in Egham project aims to uncover local suffrage stories which have yet to be told. We are working with local playwright Elinor Boult to produce an original piece of theatre which brings these stories to life.

Elinor is writing a script which is based on our research and the story of the wider suffrage movement. The piece will explore the impact of the suffrage movement in our local community. It will take the form of a series of short scenes which take the audience back to the early 20th century and individual voices will create a picture of the power of protest, showing how explosive words as well as deeds can be.

We are looking for a cast of 6-12 people of any gender to take part. Auditions will be held at Egham Museum on a first come first seen basis. Please note that the museum is accessed by a flight of stairs but please contact Amy at suffrageproject@eghammuseum.org if you would like to make alternative arrangements. Booking is not required but please register your interest via EventBrite to receive updates. There is no need to prepare anything for the audition.

The performances will be:
Saturday 9th June, 3pm. Jurors Chairs @ Runnymede National Trust
Sunday 10th June, 3pm. Ampitheatre @ Claremont National Trust

Rehearsals will be in the evenings and at weekends to work around the existing commitments of the cast.
