Event description

Description

Join local medical herbalist, Hannah Sylvester for an insightful and interactive stroll around the beautiful Cathedral Quarter of Lincoln, learning about the different medicinal herbs, flowers and trees that grow in the area, and how you can use them in the home for cooking, first aid, and medicinally. Most of the plants seen on the walk are easily cultivated at home.

Now in their fifth year, these walks are popular with all ages and are particularly useful to those wishing to expand the range of plants they cook with, those with an interest in plant history and those interested in medicinal plants.

Ticket price includes a free e-handout distributed after the event.

The walk starts at 2pm, with the meeting point being the Tennyson statue in the grounds of Lincoln Cathedral, Eastgate, Lincoln. It lasts approximately 2 hours. It is a gentle stoll on flat ground, with plenty of places to take a seat along the way should you need it.

Should you have any plant allergies, please make Hannah aware prior to the walk starting.

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear and be prepared for adverse weather conditions (i.e. if the forecast looks like rain, please bring an umbrella or a rain jacket). Walks go ahead in most weather conditions.
