Accessibility and community spaces

From theatres to places of worship, museums, community centres, heritage buildings and sports facilities, the Access and Sustainability Advice Service (ASAS) provides free guidance to charities looking to improve access to their buildings.

Their Access Advisor will join us to share advice and insight on everything from where to go for a directory of access consultants to assisting with the interpretation of access audits to help you prioritise costs and building works.

The session will be led by Access Advisor, Asa Hems asas@cae.org.uk

Haringey Community Carbon Fund (HCCF)

We will hear from Haringey Council about the upcoming Haringey Community Carbon Fund.

Haringey Council has established the Haringey Community Carbon Fund (HCCF) aiming to cultivate creative ideas and deliver carbon-reduction projects at the grassroots level.

It supports a wide range of community-led decarbonisation initiatives ranging from direct carbon reduction projects such as installations of solar panels and air source heat pumps as low-carbon heating systems; to community engagement projects such as development of workshops to empower our community to tackle climate change.

Following the success of the first four years, Haringey’s Cabinet approved the extension of the HCCF for another 4 years with more funding – a total of £400,000 will be available in grants for years 5 to 8. Year 5 will open for applications in September 2025 to support more creative low-carbon community projects.

Haringey’s website has more information about the grants: https://www.haringey.gov.uk/environment/climate/haringey-community-carbon-fund.
