About this event

The AURA networking project is bringing together experts from different disciplines to design solutions to the problem of inaccessible records in digital archives.

AURA is funded by a joint programme between the Irish Research Council and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) in the UK. Project Partners include the British Library; the National Library of Scotland; the National Library of Ireland; and the Irish Traditional Music Archive.

The purpose of this first workshop, organised by Annalina Caputo, Assistant Professor in the School of Computing, Dublin City University is to engage with a broad audience on the topic of the changing nature of archival collections in the twenty-first century. Day 1 will focus on "open data, privacy, and AI" and day 2 on the "issue of access to born-digital archives".

The workshop will consist of a series of talks and roundtable discussions from members of the following institutions: Dublin City University; Trinity College, Dublin; the National University of Ireland, Galway; the National Library of Ireland; the Waterford Institute of Technology; the University of Glasgow; the University of Edinburgh; the Alan Turing Institute; the National Library of Scotland; the National Archives; Loughborough University and the British Library.
