What is NADA?

The National Acupuncture Detox Association began over forty years ago in the U.S. to train and supervise drug and alcohol workers in a simple 5-point protocol to support clients attempting to stop their substance use. Today there are NADA bodies around the world.

What are the benefits of NADA Auricular Acupuncture?

The NADA protocol is good for the relief of cravings and withdrawal symptoms, so can help withdrawal from prescribed medication, and weight loss. Patients are relaxed during and after treatment, improved feelings of wellbeing, pain relief, stronger function of kidney, liver and lungs, better sleep.

Who is the training for?

This course is aimed at anyone who works in services that support people who have mental health problems, substance misuse difficulties, women's health issues, or after cancer treatment, in any setting.

Attending the training:

The course will begin at 9.30 a.m. promptly each day and finish by 4.30 p.m. On-site parking is limited. Buses and trains run nearby from Birmingham. The nearest Premier Inn is at Longbridge. Lunch is not provided, refreshments are. All materials and manuals are provided. Do not wear sandals.

Will I be able to practice straight away?

Yes, as soon as the course is completed you will be added to the NADA GB register of practitioners.

Will I need a licence or insurance?

Not if you work in the NHS, you do not need to be licensed and you will already be covered for liabilities. If you work outside the NHS, you will need to register yourself and your premises with your local authority, and obtain professional liabilities cover, details will be provided on the course.

Where can I practice?

Outside the NHS, you will need a clinical space that has hard flooring and a sink, and that satisfies local authority skin-piercing bye laws. On NHS premises, you can use any suitable room for one-to-one or group sessions.
