Fri 24 March 2017, 18:30 – 21:30 GMT
Join Chef James for our hands on Indian cookery class. During your class, you will learn the fundamentals of Indian cookery, covering the concepts, history and skills required to understand this hugely varied and vibrant cuisine.
You will learn how to work with fresh ingredients, herbs and spices to create Indian starters, curries, main dishes and accompaniments that truly reflect the spirit of Indian cuisine and that can easily be replicated in the home without Tandoor ovens or specialist equipment.
This course includes all ingredients, your own Bakehouse Apron & recipe cards
And after the cooking class, students will be able to enjoy their dishes (plus bring any leftovers home) with a glass of Prosecco or soft drink. Tea and coffee will also be available during the evening.
Your teacher, Chef James, was classical trained in London and France and worked for Langans Brasserie Mayfair, Sir Michael Caines Restaurant, Harvey Nichols chain. He also had the privilege of cooking for HRH Prince of Wales. He has also worked for 10 years in Indian, Thai, Chinese, Italian and Middle Eastern cookery to name a few.
"I would describe my cookery style as fresh, clean with bold flavours which looks visually stunning and bright. I believe in great modern authentic food which is not heavy and not using unnecessary fats or salt. I will be supporting local produce, whilst utilising every part of the ingredient. I am incredibly conscious of food waste and I work hard to extract maximum flavour from each and every ingredient I use, combining them to work in harmony with each other. I work with textures and flavours to excite the palate with each and every mouthful".
