Welcome to Authors in Conversation! Join us for a lively discussion with Tom Brogan and Andy Bollen in conversation with Elissa Soave at Bothwell Community HUB. Tom Brogan started his writing career in radio, writing for comedy series, Sabotage, in 2003/04. He moved into sports writing and is the author of several books on football, most recently We Made Them Angry: Scotland at the World Cup Spain 1982, which was published in 2022. Tom is also the co-artistic director of the Short Attention Span Theatre Company.

Andy Bollen started his career alongside Tom on Sabotage in the early 2000s and has since written widely for TV, radio, newspapers, as well as being one of the main writers on Off the Ball and Watson’s Wind-up. He has published several titles across popular culture, covering a cross section of music, football and comedy. He is the author of ten books, including the critically acclaimed Nirvana: A Tour Diary and the bestseller, A History of Football in 100 Objects.

Elissa Soave won the inaugural Primadonna Prize in 2019. Her first novel, Ginger and Me, was published in 2022, and was shortlisted for the Saltire Society Scottish First Book Award 2023. Elissa was a judge on the Primadonna Prize 2022 and the Curae Prize 2023 and 2025. Her second novel, Graffiti Girls, has just been published, with a third novel, Common Ground, to be published in February 2026.
