Description

Brian Evans, Lead Nurse for Learning Disability, Autism and Complex Needs, will give an oversight of the importance of the role of a learning disability/autism specialist nurse within an Acute setting and reflect on the LeDeR Report (National mortality reviews for people with learning disability over the age of 4 years) which identifies outcomes of reviews of deaths for people with learning disability, Mencap ‘Treat Me Well Campaign” identified 1200 people with learning disability died of avoidable deaths in 2018 in UK.

He will also reflect on care and treatment for learning disability patients in the past and share what have we done so far and what are the plans for future care improvements for this vulnerable patient group.
