This seminar offers clear, practical steps on how to introduce suicide prevention and self-harm strategies with autistic people, that you can apply in your setting. We’ll focus on accessibility, plain language, practical steps, and evidence-informed practice.

Three topics, to include:

Session 1: Suicide prevention delivery for autistic people — how to adapt approaches, spot risk, and remove barriers.

Workshop: discussing lived experience with autistic people — safe, respectful, and purposeful ways to include lived experience.

Session 2: Adapting self-harm information for autistic audiences — how we are adapting our self-harm safe kits to reduce ambiguity and provide practical support.

Sessions will be delivered by the Every Life Matters team

Workshop led by Helen Storey MBE

Helen has many years’ experience working with and alongside autistic people, developing projects that empower them to realise their full potential while building understanding, acceptance, and respect. In 2016, she founded the award-winning Triple A Project (All About Autism) and, during her time as Duke of Edinburgh Award Manager at the National Autistic Society, successfully piloted a Duke of Edinburgh Award programme designed specifically for autistic people.
