At Autism Oxford UK we understand what an exciting and anxious time being autistic and pregnant can be. Join our webinars to find out more information about how we can support your breastfeeding journey.

During these webinars, Diane, our Neurodevelopment Consultant Midwife, Anna, and Hannah, Peer Support Practitioners, will outline what to expect and ways of dealing with your thoughts, feelings, and emotions and how to seek support.

These webinars will provide top tips and information you need for all stages of breastfeeding and how to access support.

Autism & Breastfeeding- Part 1 on Monday 10th June at 13:30 will cover:

  • Benefits of breastfeeding
  • Basics of breastfeeding and lactation
  • Recognising your bodily cues and changes
  • Optimal positioning and attachment
  • Skin-to-skin contact
  • Physical, emotional, and sensory changes
  • What to expect on the first day
  • Who to ask for help and support

    Autism & Breastfeeding- Part 2 on Thursday 20th June at 13:30 will cover:
  • Establishing a breastfeeding routine
  • What to expect in the first week
  • What to expect in the first month
  • What to expect in the first six months
  • How to overcome challenges
  • Going back to work while breastfeeding

    This webinar is aimed at professionals, autistic individuals, parents/carers, and people within autistic individuals' support networks; however, we welcome anyone who feels attending would be helpful. If you do not have a formal diagnosis of autism or self-identify you are welcome to join.
