This webinar will focus on the ADOS2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd Edition), outlining the tool's purpose, the different modules available and how to choose between them, focus of the observations and how these are used, strengths & limitations of the tool in identifying autistic presentations, what research tells us about use with preterm children and if this impacts on results, who is able to train to administer ADOS2, and different options for training on the ADOS2.

Bio:

Dr Fiona Gullon-Scott is a highly experienced HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist specialising in autism spectrum conditions and ADHD across all ages. Through her private practice, Spectrum, she provides specialised clinical assessments, diagnoses, and psychological support for individuals and families. She is also Patron of Hope GB, an autism charity in Wales, and offers training and support to the organisation.Fiona has extensive experience within the NHS, delivering clinical work and training in over 30 NHS Trusts across the UK, and currently holds a Senior Lecturer position in Newcastle University Clinical Psychology Doctoral Programme. Fiona is an internationally accredited trainer in the ADOS and ADI-R diagnostic tools and has been teaching these for over 20 years. Her academic background includes a Doctorate from the Institute of Psychiatry, research roles at the University of Cambridge Autism Research Centre, and current academic posts at Newcastle University and Canterbury Christ Church University.Fiona leads on multiple research projects related to autism, including: Autism in females, Social anxiety interventions for autistic adults, Mental health in neurodivergent university students, FII (Fabricated or Induced Illness) and neurodivergence, to name a few. She actively contributes to policy work, government reports, media, and professional guidance on autism, has published widely, and has developed screening and assessment materials in the field.
