About this session

Although Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) sits within the Autism profile, it is specific and unique requiring different strategies and techniques. This session explores those specific needs and the strategies designed to meet them. It offers practical advice, ideas and support to both professionals and parents.

• those working with/or caring for children with Autism (with have a diagnosis of PDA) or those who simply wish to know more about this profile

• Parents, SENCos, Teachers and Learning Support Assistants

Session Leaders: Nicola Durrant

This session is jointly led by Nicola Durrant, an Autism Specialist Teacher and Consultant as well as being a Mum to an amazing Autistic daughter. She worked as a SENCO for eight years and a specialist advisor for 13 years while also training as dyslexia assessor and gaining a Master’s degree in Autism. As an independent specialist teacher Nicola has a proven track record of first-class support and advice for parents and teachers and is a Director of SEND Station.
