Overview

Join our UK experts in trauma and autism for a half-day, online training focussing on children and young people

LIMITED EARLY BIRD TICKETS AVAILABLE UNTIL 31st DECEMBER 2025

An essential training for professionals working in autism, trauma, or both.

Join us for a half-day, online training exploring the intersection of autism and trauma in children and young people. With growing clinical awareness and diagnostic uncertainty, many teams struggle to differentiate trauma-related presentations from autistic traits - or feel unconfident to diagnose autism when trauma is part of the picture.

This workshop is designed to build clarity and confidence around differential diagnosis, deepen understanding of trauma-related terminology (including attachment related difficulties, PTSD, complex trauma and more), and explore what happens when autism and trauma co-occur.

Through teaching, real-life case examples, and interactive group discussions, you will learn how to approach these assessments with nuance and clinical curiosity, and how to adapt trauma support when autism is present.

This workshop will cover:

  • The key terms: attachment, developmental trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, complex trauma
  • Overlapping and differentiating features of autism and trauma-related conditions
  • Case examples

Who is it for?

This session is aimed at a wide range of professionals working with children and young people who have experiened trauma, and/or autistic young people (assessment and/or treatment) - including Clinical and Assistant Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Care-Coordinators, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Occupational Therapists, Speach and Language Therapists, GPs, CBT therapists and social workers.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this workshop, you will:

  • Understand and differentiate trauma-related diagnostic terms and they apply to autism
  • Identify overlapping and distinguishing features of autism and trauma
  • Reflect on real case examples to improve diagnostic thinking
