Training delivered by Scottish Autism

SESSION 1 – What is Autism?

A look at what is so different about Autism and a look at what we mean by developmental differences, and what might this look like in practice.

SESSION 2 – Social Imagination and Flexible Thinking

What is social imagination and how might differences in imagination and information processing affect someone. This session will focus on our theoretical understanding of Autism and use real practice examples to help us understand what this mean for practice.

SESSION 3 - Communication and Social Interaction

What do we mean by communication and communication for what? This section will also look at what we mean by social interaction and how an autistic person might process the social world differently

SESSION 4- Sensory processing and exploring how to support someone’s sensory needs

Delegates will gain an understanding of differences in sensory processing and how this may impact an autistic person.

An interactive session where delegates will participate in a range of activities that will support understanding of how differences in sensory processing may impact an autistic person.
