Event description

Description

Our new Saturday morning ‘Morning Explorers’ sessions provide an informal atmosphere in which to explore the museum, sensitive to the needs of children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions under the age of 16.

Discover fascinating objects and explore our galleries exclusively, without the hustle and bustle of the general public from 9.30am (normal opening hours are 11am-5pm).

Located in the 17th century stable block of Wollaton Hall, we house a unique collection of working steam and diesel engines, as well as examples of local textile and transport technologies. We also have displays reflecting local industries such as mining, railways, bicycles, motorcycles, lace, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, tobacco and printing, and our volunteers will be on hand to explain the history of the exhibits.

The museum is wheelchair and pram friendly (please email us at tours@nottinghamindustrialmuseum.co.uk so that we can have a volunteer available to welcome your party). A Changing Places toilet is within the Middle Courtyard as well as two Courtyard cafes.

Morning Explorers sessions are FREE but Wollaton Hall car park charges apply.

Donations to Nottingham Industrial Museum are very much welcomed - we are a fully volunteer led registered charity and rely on the generosity of our visitors to help us maintain our collection and to remain financially sustainable.
