Event description
Taking place over 6 days, our free virtual Research Festival will showcase innovative and thought provoking autism research

About this Event

Autistica Research Festival will bring together autism researchers, autistic people, relatives and carers to hear the latest research and discuss how to make progress towards long, happy, healthy lives for autistic people.

There will be a range of sessions each day including panel discussions showcasing the latest autism research, workshops, breakfast discussion sessions, Q&A panel sessions and social events happening in the evenings.

Our wide range of content will include Dr Sarah Cassidy, Dr Katie Maras and Professor Jacqui Rodgers as our Keynote Speakers.

Delegates will be able to choose which sessions to attend, fitting them around your own working week and personal interests. All sessions will be recorded and shared after the end of the festival. The festival is free to attend, though we ask delegates if possible to make a small donation when registering for their tickets to go towards the work we do at Autistica.

You can see the full festival programme here.

How it all works

By clicking 'register' you will give your name and details and select the sessions that you wish to attend. You will receive an email a week before the start of the session (or closer if you register after that date) with the zoom webinar link and meeting password. These will allow you to log on and watch the session. All sessions will be recorded and we will be sharing the recordings on our website after the festival is over.

Make sure to check that you have all the details you need to join a session the day before so that if there are any problems at all (see below) there is time to fix them.

FAQs

Do I need a Zoom account?

If this Festival is your first time using Zoom then it is worth joining your first session early so that you can get through set up. You will need an email address to register and then it should only take a couple of minutes. We have a guide for using Zoom on our website here.

I said I was going to attend a session but I can't now

That's ok - you don't need to do anything. Places aren't limited so you don't need to let anyone know to release your ticket - as much as we want a large live audience to ask questions and interact with our speakers we understand that life (especially at the moment) can get in the way without warning.

I want to attend a session but I didn't tick it when I registered

Not a problem. Ideally please register again and tick the session you want to add to your original booking, then you will receive an email with the Zoom details for that session, allowing you to join. If that's not possible due to time restraints- see the answer below.

The session starts soon but I don't have the joining details - what do I do?

If it is the day of/ day before the session and you don't have an email with the joining details yet, please check your spam/ Junk folders first to make sure it is in there. If not then please email bethan.davies@autistica.org.uk clearly stating which session it is you are wanting to attend and she will respond to you with the details before the session starts.

I have everything but its not working/ something has gone wrong

If you have any difficulties on the day at all, or a problem that isn't covered by the above FAQs then please email bethan.davies@autistica.org.uk stating what session you are emailing about and if you have registered for a ticket or not. She will get back to you as soon as she can.
