It’s Mabon and the autumn equinox – a time where the harvest season is nearly over, before the rains and cold return! It is a time to reflect on the year and thank the earth for its bounty… It is a time to celebrate with loved ones in your finery, and at this special Stoke in Bloom x Culture Club collab event, we are definitely celebrating!
We will be reviewing the entries for the awards and announcing the winner of the Stoke in Bloom awards [ENTER HERE], visiting the apple trees in Blockhouse Park and helping to care for them so they have a healthy winter, ready for us to wake them up at the Wassail in January!
And no apple-themed celebration would be complete without a delicious apple crumble to share… plus some apple stamping and themed activities for children.
It’s ALSO World Clean Up day, so we will be joined by our friends from Clean Our Patch who will help us litter pick the park on our walk to the orchard.
As we may get a little mucky in the orchard, no finery or ballgowns required, but if you would like to wear something that represents your bounty this year, whether it’s an apple print shirt, floral dress or something entirely different - we would love to see what the year has brought for you.
