What do I need to bring?

Wear good footwear as we will be walking around the park and its paths but may come off the path a bit depending on the movement of the birds. Wear layers in cased the weather is changeable and note that it can be breezy in the riverside park. If you have bincoculars, feel free to bring them

Where are the nearest toliets?

There are no toilets in Hebburn Riverside Park. The nearest toilets are at Hebburn Central library and pool on Glen street in the town centre, or at Hebburn Town FC subject to opening hours.

Where is the meeting point for the walk?

The meeting point for the walk is on the main jetty at the bottom of Prince Consort road - this is also the location of the main parking area for the Riverside Park

Autumn Bird Safari with Michael Turner

Join us for a family friendly bird watching experience in Hebburn Riverside Park! Michael Turner, a renowned local ornithologist, will guide us through the park to spot some of the beautiful birds in their natural habitat. Autumn is a great time for bird watching as the different species prepare for the winter months ahead. From woodpeckers and Jays in the parkland to ducks and waders on the river, Michael will show you how to identify birds by sight and sound and share tales of their extraordinary lives.
