Autumn Colours - From Designing to Screen Printing
Join me in my Nunburnholme Print Studio for a special workshop introducing the technique of screen printing with a strong focus on Autumn colours and taking inspiration from the season.
The Course
Design and print your own small edition of 1 colour or 2 colour prints through the medium of screen printing.
Who Is The Course Suitable For?
Whether you're a seasoned designer wanting to experiment in another medium or a complete beginner looking to try something new, this event is perfect for all skill levels.
What you'll be doing
Screen printing is the process whereby ink is pushed through a fine silk mesh stretched over a screen. A squeegee is used to push the ink through the 'open' areas of the screen depositing an even layer of ink on to the fabric or paper below. Many colours/layers can be printed and multiple copies can be printed.
In this workshop Alison will use her 20 plus years of experience to guide you through creating your own design or pattern, cutting the design out of stencil paper, choosing and mixing your colour/s and then printing your design using a squeegee and screen on to paper and card.
This special Autumn edition of the workshop will have a focus on all things Autumn with guidance through appropriate colours and inspirations. This can be taken quite literally with the subject matter or very loosely interpreted through the colours used in a very abstract way - it's up to you! Let you creativity loose!
A great workshop for groups of friends to catch up and get creative.
Approx 4 hrs.
The workshop will involve:
- Introduction to screen printing, how it works and how to take inspiration from idea to print
