This autumn, Barkingside Art Club and Art for Artists CIC are delighted to collaborate with Empowering Parents Together (EPT) to bring a series of Soul Studio Creative Wellbeing Workshops for SEND parent carers in Redbridge.
As part of the Big Draw Festival: Let’s Draw Together, these sessions invite parent carers to pause, connect, and create through artmaking.
Time: 10:30am to 12:30pm
18th September – Acrylic Painting on Canvas
16th October – Mixed-Media Drawing (watercolours, acrylic pens & more)
13th November – Lantern Making & Recycled Sculpture (Light Up for Inclusion)
18th December – Festive Celebration: seasonal drawing, crafts, parent party & mini exhibition
Each participant will also receive a personal sketchbook to fill throughout the term.
The free creative workshops are led by Eliyah Qureshi, an artist, art educator, and a mum to a SEN child. Eliyah understands the challenges SEN parents face in finding opportunities to connect and socialise. This workshops offer a lighthearted, creative, and therapeutic space to engage with others who share similar experiences.
Soul Studio, by Afora CIC and Barkingside Art Club, is a free monthly project for SEND parents to relax, create, and connect. This judgement -free space is all about celebrating your journey, expressing yourself through art, and building meaningful connections. Come unwind, share, and shine - you deserve it!
This initiative is funded by Leading Redbridge through our nonprofit center, Art for Artists CIC (AFORA). It highlights the vital role organisations like EPT play in supporting SEND parent carers and their families.
Tea, coffee, and snacks will be provided during the session.
