At the turning of the seasons, when day and night stand in equal balance, we gather to pause, breathe, and rest into harmony. The autumn equinox invites us to honour the shifting light, to release what has grown heavy, and to prepare our bodies and hearts for the descent into the darker half of the year.

In Yin yoga, we surrender into floor-based postures held for time, gently opening the body’s deeper tissues and nourishing the meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine. At this equinox, we attune especially to the Lung and Large Intestine meridians, which support the energy of autumn – letting go, grief, and renewal, like trees releasing their leaves.

Following yin, you’ll be guided into Yoga Nidra, a deeply restorative practice often called “yogic sleep.” Through body sensing, breath awareness, and guided imagery, Nidra draws the mind into a liminal state between wakefulness and dreaming, where the nervous system can soften, stress can dissolve, and clarity can arise.

Together these practices create a sanctuary of balance – movement into stillness, light into dark, the inhale into the exhale – mirroring the equinox itself.

Come to rest, release, and realign with the rhythm of the season.
