About this event

Spirituality • Unaffiliated

Pause, reflect and respond to the season in this safely held, inclusive online space. Take some time for yourself, to slow down, still the body and the mind and listen to the longings of your soul.

Autumn is a transitional season reminding us that change is constant. In the Celtic Calendar Autumn brings the year to a close, so it’s a poignant time to take a pause and reflect on what the year has brought, both the gifts and the challenges.

The Autumn Equinox is on the 22nd of September, the moment in the planetary movements when the day and night are equal in length. It also marks when the hours of darkness over take the hours of light leading the the shortest day at the Winter Solstice. This can be an opportunity to review our own equilibrium in our lives as we prepare for hunkering down and putting things to bed for the winter season.

During this retreat, we will spend some time connecting with the season and it's rhythms and cycles and draw towards the Divine Mystery/Loving Presence/Ground of Being/Love/God (substitute your preferred name here) through meditation and contemplative practices.

The retreat will consist of:

A welcome and introduction

A stilling exercise to help us arrive

A guided meditation.

Journalling time.

Simply bring yourself, a notebook/journal and a pen, a drink, blanket and slippers, whatever makes you comfortable for a retreat in your own home.

There is an optional safely held circle to share reflections at the end of retreat. You can share as much or a little as you wish here.

Suitable for beginners and the more experienced, of any faith background or none, this is an LGBTQ plus inclusive space, all are welcome :-)

Suggested donation for this event is £20 (includes access to the recording of the retreat). Please pay what you can to ensure these events can run and be accessible to all who would benefit from them. Thank you :-)

Anna Robinson is a contemplative who draws from the mystical Christian tradition. She hosts and curates retreats in person and online. Anna lives in Cornwall with her husband Jim and their two daughters.Through gatherings, groups, retreats and guided meditation she curates space for meaningful connection with the earth, with our souls, with others and with the Divine Mystery, some call God. She is a content creator and host on Nomad podcast; a place for faith, doubt and re-imagination.

Anna's work draws from her contemplative practice of 20 years, from the mystics and the wisdom traditions, Celtic Christian Spirituality, the bible, wisdom texts, poetry, psychology and her pagan/celtic roots. She uses practices such as nature connection, mindfulness, breath work, the Ignatian meditation, centering prayer, lectio divina, the examen, the use of silence, mantras, invocations and blessings. She follows the cycles of the seasons in the Celtic calendar of the Northern hemisphere and the pagan and christian festivals in and around these seasons.

Here is what some have said about her work:

"I've been coming to the retreats for a while now I feel they give some rhythm to my year and I know I can always look back or think forward 3 months and how things were and how I'd like them to be. I like Anna's style a lot and though it's always a different group people are always friendly and engaged."

"Anna has a remarkable knowledge of various spiritual practices and ability to introduce them in a simple way.' James

"Thank you so much for a lovely retreat .... I felt held and was able to connect with that deep inner well. Thank you for your preparation and the way you carried our time together so gently and intentionally. It felt like a lovely balance of receiving, resting and reflecting.

"These meditations are so comforting and beautiful.''

"It's like finding a little sanctuary, a calm quiet space to reflect and refresh. It's a safe space, you won't be asked to do anything weird and it can be your own private time if you want it to be."
