We are excited to share with you the details for our 2019 Autumn Play Training Day.

We have a selection of 4 amazing workshops, descriptors for each one is provided after the timetable for the day. Please read through them prior to selecting your workshops on the following page.

The timetable for the day is as follows:

9am: Registration opens!

9.30am: Workshop 1

10.50am: Break (Refreshments will be served)

11.10am: Workshop 2

12.30pm: Reflection and discussion with the ELPA team (optional)

1pm: Training Day finishes!

Information:

Workshop selections can now be made through Eventbrite during the registration process. Please select the workshops in order of preference (for example 1 = first choice to 4 = last choice). We will aim to accommodate everyones first choice but please be aware that workshops will be allocated on a first come, first served basis which might result on you not receiving your top two choices. The workshop descriptors are as follows:

1. Mark Carr - Music/Sound Making Workshop

Discover sound that is all around but seldom heard. Look at ways to make the most of the sounds you don't notice. Make sounds from everyday clutter!

2. Max Alexander - Creating Inclusive Play Spaces

A session exploring how practitioners can facilitate meaningful play experiences for children and young people with additional and complex support needs. Using an approach to inclusion based on collaboration, reflective practice and creativity.

3. Roger Powell - East Lothian Countryside Rangers

From sound maps to tracks and trails, smelly cocktails to leaf art, how to put together elements of an interactive countryside wander, using sight, sound and smell to experience a woodland and some of the wildlife that lives there.

4. Sarah Barrett - Promoting Wellbeing and Play

Sarah Barrett is an educational psychologist from the east Lothian team and will help us think about how we can support mental wellbeing and build resilience with the children we work alongside.

PLEASE NOTE: We will also be holding a raffle for a couple of special prizes, one of which will be an autumn themed sack filled with lots of goodies! Additionally, we will be placing a donation bucket beside the refreshments, this will help us to cover the cost of teas, coffees and snacks for the day.

We look forward to seeing you on the day!
