Autumn seed planting and processing at Poole’s Cavern & Buxton Country Park

Guided by our Woodland Team, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills and make a lasting impact on your local environment with a local charity.


Activities will include: extracting seeds from the fruits/nuts, learning about soil preferences for different species and sowing the seeds into pots and trays. We will process Hawthorn, Oak, Hazel, Yew, Guelder-rose and Holly seeds.


📍 Meeting point for the activity: Outside of the Poole’s Cavern Visitor Centre

📅 Date: Sunday 23rd November 2025

🕐 30-minute slots between 10am – 12pm

✅ Free to attend – booking required!

🌱 Who can join? Open to age 5+, under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

What to expect: This event will take place in the Lower Picnic Area at Poole’s Cavern Visitor Centre, or in the Poole’s Cavern School Room in bad weather.


Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted at this event.
