Autumn Team Volunteering Day: Conservation in Bordon!
Date and time
Description
For our Autumn Team Volunteering Day, we're heading to Deadwater Valley Local Nature Reserve. Please join us for a morning of fresh woodland air, making new connections, and essential conservation work in the great outdoors.
Mission for the day
Our mission will be lending a hand to the Deadwater Valley Trust. Their conservation work helps to maintain the Deadwater Valley Local Nature Reserve as an enjoyable place to visit and a healthy habitat for local wildlife. They often come up against invasive species such as bamboo and rhododendron that harm the local ecosystems - so we're going to learn about these and help clear them from the woodland. No previous conservation experience is necessary as the Rangers will guide the group. Please remember your sturdy boots and wear suitable outdoor clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. We're going to get stuck in!
We will email the meeting point in the week before the event, so please sign up to make sure we can get in touch with you.
Volunteering
If you've never had the chance to try volunteering before, why not come along and see the difference that just one morning can make? You can ask about regular volunteering with the Trust if you're keen to continue, and Community First's Volunteer Service staff will be there to talk to about other local roles.
Booking and more info
Please book one free ticket per volunteer to help us keep track of numbers.
