Online sessions

About this event

Our online sessions engage students in historical enquiry from the convenience of their classroom. Interacting live with Education Officers from The National Archives students will develop their skills of analysis and deepen their understanding of evidence by examining documents from our collection online. Students are welcome to ask questions and share ideas with their Education Officer, with opportunity for paired or group discussion.

Online sessions last one hour and can take place throughout the school day subject to availability. We can connect to your classroom either by a single computer linked to a whiteboard or, if you have the facilities, via multiple tablets or laptops. Please note that we use Zoom as our meeting platform and an equipment test must take place successfully before your online session can take place. Once you have submitted your Booking Request a member of the team will contact you to confirm the booking and make arrangements for an IT test.

Please note that in accordance with our safeguarding policy, and to avoid unnecessary disruption, class/subject teachers must stay with their class for the duration of the online session. If the teacher is not present for any part of the workshop or if a cover teacher is used, we will be unable to proceed with the session.

You can contact the Education Team on if you have any questions about booking onto sessions.
