Course DescriptionThis course will explore the rich imagery of Chinese classical poetry, the mythological figures from ancient stories, and mystical symbols such as the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching. We will use these elements, along with Fairy Tales, as our teaching materials. Through the medium of Chinese dance and modern physical movement, we will delve into this mysterious realm from the perspective of human movement and performance studies. The course aims to understand and create by examining how these ancient elements can be expressed and interpreted through contemporary bodily performance.
