As nature invites us to slow down from the summer buzz into Autumn —but work, kids and/or life just keeps going at speed —this is your invitation to step away, ease the tension, and kindly tend to you.Slowing down to rest can feel challenging for many reasons. During this afternoon retreat we will honour this, and take our sweet time to slow down, slowly.
This means working intelligently with tired-wired nervous system energy, and being guided to practice yoga in a way that feels right for you, in that moment. This way there is personal agency in your practice and honest self-connection to open the door towards deep rest and relaxation.This afternoon retreat is your invitation to
- Take time in a peaceful place to focus entirely on you
- Cultivate a felt sense of ease, holistically supporting your body-mind to rest and relax
- Explore hot/cold immersion in sauna and wild dip, plus restorative yoga using props and movement to slow down into grounding, ernergising rest
- Experience spacious mindfulness to help you feel present
- Explore empowering perspectives of rest as a foundation for wellbeing
- Enjoy an uplifting, energising afternoon with women who also care about true self-careSCHEDULE>2.45pm: Gather by the gates of Westbury Wildlife Park and begin to arrive, taking a mindful stroll together to Fire & Ice Wellness> 3-4pm: Enjoy Fire and Ice Wellness for hot/cold immersion therapy with sauna and wild dip in a natural pool - said to improve mood, reduce stress, and increase blood flow - a beautiful and peaceful nature spot too. Sauna warmth will help relax and unwind tension , and to and slow us down to prepare for restorative yoga.> 4-6pm: settle into the River Room studio for a spacious, grounding 90-minute Restorative Yoga practice - using bolsters, blankets and soft supports to move towards a felt sense of nervous system safety, an easeful breath, and so rest and relaxation> We will close our practice with a Yoga Nidra. This is a form of meditation, done laying down with comfy supports, working with the natural intelligence of our body-mind to induce a deep state of calm, relaxation and rest.> Honest, useful chats about rest (the challenges and benefits), tea and tasty vegan treats will look after you inside and out tooJust like the shift in seasons take time, nothing will be rushed here - how refreshing.Spaces limited to 7 - no experience needed - no obligation to dip if the cold water is not for you on the day.
