Event description

Description

Join at Callis Community Gardens for a nourishing Autumn afternoon of foraging! This course will be a chance to connect with the edible berries, nuts and fungi of autumn, in a relaxing and inspiring environment.

Learn how to identify seasonal edible plants with confidence. Be inspired by recipe ideas you can try at home. Explore plant folklore, medicine and bushcraft uses. We'll be using all our senses in this journey to get to know the plants; expect lots of tasting and getting hands on with the plants.

You will be guided by Live Wild's Leonie Morris - qualified Bushcraft Instructor & Wild Food Teacher and Sophie Wren - Forager & Wild Food Experimenter.

This course will be held in the unique setting of Callis Community Gardens in Hebden Bridge, a beautiful community patch of land next to the Rochdale canal. The area is looked after by a committed group of volunteers and boaters who care for the land (leaving lots of wild areas ideal for foraging!), grow vegetables and create a welcoming space for wildlife and the community.

The cost for the course is £25 or £20 for a child/low/unwaged ticket (plus booking fee). Accompanied children aged 11 upwards are welcome on this course for the lower £20 rate.

Please email us at info@livewild.org.uk if you have any access requirements or if you have any other questions.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
