Autumn Workshop Programme
Hitting the Headlines
Are you starting a business but have no money for marketing or PR?
Do you need help in contacting and dealing with the press?
This short workshop will give you useful tips on how to communicate with the press and get accurate, effective press coverage for your company.
The workshop is aimed at entrepreneurs, engineers and scientists who have little or no experience of dealing with the press. By working through real examples, the workshop will enable delegates to draft a press release and ensure it gets published. A small amount of preparation will be required.
Nadya Anscombe is a highly experienced technology journalist and editor, and a professional media trainer. She has more than 15 years’ experience of writing about a huge variety of science and engineering topics and her work has appeared in several publications including New Scientist, E&T magazine, Physics World and Science. As well as journalism, Nadya also works as a PR consultant and is a visiting lecturer in science communication at Exeter University.
This is the third workshop in our 2012 BEN Autumm Workshop programme. If you are interested in finding out more about BEN, the network of the technology business community, or registering as a member (its free), please click here: BEN
