About this Event
Are you going to be hitting the off-piste or going touring this winter ? Want to enjoy the powder but stay safe ? Then this presentation is for you. We will examine what causes avalanches, how to avoid them, and what to do if it goes wrong !
This FREE presentation is supported by The Bighorn Bistro. It lasts just over 1 hour, starting PROMPTLY at 18:00, in the Bighorn Bistro and bar. The Bighorn is in Place Cham Sud (the centre of Chamonix Sud, right opposite the Aiguille du Midi lift). The presentation is brought to you by Avalanche Academy - Chamonix's only dedicated avalanche training school. It will be delivered in English, by a UIAGM certified Mountain Guide.
The presentation is FREE, but to control numbers we are asking everyone to register in advance. Please photograph your ticket on your phone and bring it with you. We ask that you only book tickets for up to 4 people each, and f you can't make it for any reason, please cancel via the eventbrite website.
Please note that this season there will only be 3 presentations given so book early to reserve your places. Arrive early to get the best seats, and REMEMBER THAT THIS IS FREE - SHOW YOUR THANKS TO THE BIGHORN FOR HOSTING THE EVENT BY BUYING A DRINK.

Should I bring a facemask ?
Yes, access will require a facemask.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
No. Anybody can come.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes. If you can't make it, please cancel your registration, then book another night. If you can't make it, and don't bother to cancel, then you might deny someone else the opportunity of some life-saving knowledge.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. Save the planet. Just photograph it on a smartphone.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
That's fine. If you can't make it, but want to send a friend instead, no problem.
