Aviva Pride - Our LGBT equality journey
Date and time
Description
Aviva Pride was founded in 2007 as the Aviva LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans) Employee Network Group. With members across the UK, our York network would like to invite you to our event where we will be discussing how we have promoted LGBT equality in our workplace, what we have learnt, and how we have worked with the wider LGBT community.
We want to share with you what we have been doing so that you can feel encouraged to promote LGBT equality in your workplace. We also want to give you the opportunity to hear from our senior leaders and to get answers to any questions you may have.
This event is open to all, and not specifically targeted to LGBT employees. You may be a HR manager, a Corporate Responsibility lead, a parent of an LGBT child, a straight ally, or someone passionate about equality and diversity.
We will be sharing:
- The business case for LGBT equality in the workplace, from our Global Marketing Director, Jan Gooding.
- The experiences of being in an LGBT ENG and promoting diversity internally and externally, from our York Network Lead, Simon Rodgers.
- How it feels coming out as a senior leader, from our UK Life Chief Risk Officer, Angela Darlington.
- Discuss how, working with other organisations, we would like to start an inter-organisation LGBT network in York, from Simon Rodgers of Aviva and joined by Shaun Rafferty of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Kate Scott-Hughes of the Crown Prosecution Service.
- A panel Q&A made up of all of the presenters to give you the opportunity to ask your questions.
- The opportunity to network over a glass of wine at the end of the event.
