The Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD) is pleased to present this interactive workshop on How to advertise your art business on Facebook and Instagram: Tips, Tricks, Obstacles and Setting up an ad, presented by OLGA Agency's Jessica Templeton Smith and Sophie Skarbek-Borowska.

Sales of art online have risen by 15% since 2015, and the numbers are going up. 38% of new collectors are influenced by social media when it comes to buying art, with the top platforms being Facebook and Instagram… So what are you doing to reach them?


 Attend OLGA's talk to learn:


-       Why you should use Facebook’s platform for advertising


-       To understand tricky terminology and avoid being caught out by ‘false friends’


-       How to build an audience that’s right for your business


-       How to choose an ad format that meets your goals


-       How to set up a basic ad, from start to finish

1.     Introduction


o   How Facebook and Instagram advertising fits into your overall communications plan


o   Understanding Facebook’s limitations, setting your goals, and why this is fundamental


o   The difference between social media marketing and other forms of digital marketing, e.g. Google Adwords


o   Using Facebook to learn about your audience: campaign duration and preparation time


2.     Setting up an ad through the Facebook interface (Facebook & Instagram):

 o   Getting the building blocks in place (setting up an audience; imagery best practice; identifying a valuable CTA; character counts)

o   Using Facebook ads manager


o   Key terminology


o   Setting a budget that makes sense

Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD)


The Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD) is an international network that facilitates business and collaborations between women art dealers.

Based in London and NYC, AWAD meets on a monthly basis at both locations and also welcomes membership applications from art dealers, art advisors and gallerists based worldwide.

In 2016, AWAD is also piloting a Virtual Chapter open to women art dealers who are not able to attend London and New York meetings and events. Art dealers are spread far and wide around the globe, and AWAD is keen to support women art dealers regardless of location. Notably, AWAD’s mission is to support and facilitate business and enable collaboration between women art dealers.

AWAD Members work together in many ways, including art deals, gallery and pop-up exhibitions, art fairs, sharing of shipping costs to art fairs – and the list goes on. The organisation also offers masterclasses, networking events and online platforms. We believe that by working together as a whole, we benefit on an individual basis, by enjoying increasingly successful art businesses.
