Event Details

The Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD) is pleased to present this interactive workshop on Agreements between Artists and Art Dealers / Galleries, presented by specialist Art World Solicitor Nicholas Sharp and kindly hosted at Westbury, an AWAD Partner.

  • This workshop will focus on Agreements between Artists and Art Dealers / Galleries
  • After an initial overview of the agreement template and how it functions in practice, the session will open to a Q&A session with participants.
  • Ahead of the workshop, participants will be provided with a draft of the Agreement Template. This will enable you to think of your own specific needs in advance, so that you're ready to get input from Nick based on your working relationships with artists.

**Owing to the interactive nature of this workshop, places will be limited to 12 attendees - be sure to book swiftly!**

The workshop will be delivered by Nicholas Sharp an arts lawyer and AWAD Partner.  Nick advises arts organisations, galleries and artists on contracts, copyright and other legal issues. If you prefer to book a one on one session with Nick to tailor the template for your individual needs, a special one-time offer will be made available to Members. More details coming soon.

Organizer

AWAD, the Association of Women Art Dealers

The Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD) facilitates business and collaborations between art dealers, gallerists and art consultants.

Our vision is to be the premier international network for women art dealers. We provide a platform for meeting fellow collaboratively-minded art dealers, gallerists and consultants.

Based in London and NYC, AWAD meets on a monthly basis at both locations and also welcomes membership applications from art dealers, art advisors and gallerists based worldwide.

In 2016, AWAD is also piloting a Virtual Chapter open to women art dealers who are not able to attend London and New York meetings and events. Art dealers are spread far and wide around the globe, and AWAD is keen to support women art dealers regardless of location. Notably, AWAD’s mission is to support and facilitate business and enable collaboration between women art dealers.

AWAD Members work together in many ways, including art deals, gallery and pop-up exhibitions, art fairs, sharing of shipping costs to art fairs – and the list goes on. The organisation also offers masterclasses, networking events and online platforms. We believe that by working together as a whole, we benefit on an individual basis, by enjoying increasingly successful art businesses.
