The next AWAD Virtual Chapter monthly meeting takes place on Tuesday 6th September and it is open to Women Art Dealers (including gallerists, art dealers, art consultants and art advisors) from all over the world.

As the AWAD Virtual Chapter meetings take place online (5pm London time, 12pm NYC time, 9am LA time), you can attend from anywhere with good internet access.

The meeting will be run by AWAD’s Founder and CEO, Susan Mumford and will include business updates from attendees (first 45 minutes approx.) followed by a short presentation by our guest speaker.

Guest Speaker: Fran Kaufman from http://www.kv-projects.com/ will talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly of Art Fairs.

About the AWAD Virtual Chapter

The Association of Women Art Dealers is piloting a Virtual Chapter in 2016, following the launch of the London Chapter in 2010 and the NYC Chapter in 2014.

The Virtual Chapter's monthly meeting will take place entirely online, with a focus of supporting women art dealers who are not able to attend London and New York meetings and events. Art dealers are spread far and wide around the globe, and AWAD is keen to support women art dealers regardless of location. Notably, our mission is to support and facilitate business and enable collaboration between women art dealers.

The Virtual Chapter will be trialled for a period of six months, with meetings chaired by AWAD Founder & CEO Susan Mumford. As with existing chapters, visitors are welcome to attend once prior to committing to join the association. All current AWAD Members are welcome to attend these online sessions during the pilot period.

Susan will facilitate a roundtable style conversation for all attendees, in which they are able to grow their dealer network while providing one another ideas in a collaborative fashion.

Guest speakers will attend meetings to provide insights for art dealers’ ongoing professional development, with subjects ranging from contracts to working with interior designers.

Tips for attending the live online session:
If possible, watch using an ethernet internet connection (this is physical broadband). The second best connection is reliable wifi (ideally with a minimum of 8megabytes download and 2 megabytes upload, which can be checked at http://www.speedtest.net). The third and final option is connecting using data, which is not recommended.

If you experience difficulty with quality of video or sound during the live event, try an alternate web browser from the one you are using, such as Safari, Firefox or Google Chrome.
