AWAIR - Clean Air Walk in Shepherd's Bush and White City
Come join us for a fantastic day out in Shepherd's Bush and White City! Lace up your sneakers and get ready to walk for clean air. This event is all about promoting healthy living and raising awareness about air quality. Let's walk together towards a greener future!
The walk is FREE and open to all. It will take 75 minutes and finish at Wormholt Park.
Your hosts will be Manon, and Jamilia, AWAIR community champions, Kayla, and Joanna, expert guide from Iya London.
You’ll see and hear about:
- Quiet routes, taking you away from traffic. You’ll walk down a new route behind Macfarlane Place off busy Wood Lane.
- Local green spaces, offering you better air quality and a mood boost. You’ll visit the UK’s oldest public Japanese garden.
- AWAIR displays, giving you updated, accurate data about air pollution in London.
- The best times to be active to avoid exposure to air pollution.
- Public transport options and other ways to reduce contributors to air pollution.
The walk is sponsored by AWAIR, a participatory research project piloting the delivery of
local air quality information in the public realm, aiming to support transparency and equal
access to health-protective guidance.
