Description

Apna Haq Conference 2019
Child sexual abuse/exploitation and BME communities

A one day conference on sharing our learning on Child Sexual Abuse within BME communities. A unique contribution to identifying and understanding the barriers and challenges for black and minoritised communities in reframing the conversation and changing attitudes.

The conference will share and explore the implications from Apna Haq's evaluation of its 4C's programme: Challenge, Change, Consolidate and Champion.

A groundbreaking 4 day capacity building course, developed based on the experiences of BME women and children with child abuse/exploitation, and the reasons for under-reporting within both families and communities - giving a voice to these experiences.

Professor Liz Kelly
Director of the Child and Woman Abuse Studies Unit (CWASU)
