Description
Awards Ceremony - European Social Innovation Competition 2017 - Equality Rebooted
Join us for the Awards Ceremony of the 2017 European Social Innovation Competition at 14.00 on 26 October 2017 at the Albert Hall in Brussels.
The ceremony marks the culmination of this year's Competition, 'Equality Rebooted', to find social innovations that allow everyone to equally seize the opportunities offered by digital transformation and technological change.
Following an opening keynote address from Charlotte de Vilmorin, a winner of the 2015 Competition, our ten finalists will pitch their solutions. You will hear their ideas on how to equip all members of society with the appropriate skills and opportunities to compete in a changing economy. We will follow this with a debate on the relationship between technology and inequality. Our Master of Ceremonies will be Matt Boardman.
At the end of the event, European Commissioner Elżbieta Bieńkowska will award this year's three winners with prizes of €50,000 each. Maja Grcic, a member of the 2016 Competition jury, will announce the winner of the Impact Prize, awarded to the semi-finalist from the 2016 Competition, 'Integrated Futures' who has gone on to achieve the greatest results.
