“I have a discipline that has served me very well in my career and in my personal life… I’ve always felt if I don’t just have a natural knack for it, I will just out-discipline the competition if I have to – work harder than anybody else.” Ryan Reynolds
About Awards Strategy and Recognition and how Ryan will lead the way
As technology advances, so do our roles as filmmakers. Like Ryan Reynolds, we are increasingly responsible for more than traditional directing, writing, or producing obligations, especially as PR and marketing professionals get involved much earlier in the creative/production process.
PR and Digital Film Promotion will equip you with the skills needed to thrive in this evolving landscape by connecting to your audience’s screens and how their uniquely personal spaces can lead them to your film.
This class is part of the Digital Marketing and PR for Filmmakers course
What will it cover?
“When I meet thousands of fans of the comic – when I realise every one of them can recite the Lantern Corps oath (‘In Brightest Day, in blackest night…’) – I know how important this is to people.” Ryan Reynolds
We investigate the pivotal role of awards in the film industry by gaining insights into crafting a coherent and comprehensive awards strategy tailored to various audiences, including business-to-business (B2B), business-to-consumer (B2C), and consumer-to-consumer (C2C) approaches.
We analyse the diverse platforms and channels available for niche and independent films to garner recognition and acclaim, as well as how to bridge and collaborate on those campaigns with digital distribution platforms.
We explore Ryans’ brand partnerships and relationships, his personal brand & his films and others
What will you achieve?
Through case studies (including some of Ryan’s amazing campaigns), hands-on projects, and guest speakers (maybe even Ryan himself!), the participants will gain practical skills in building a digital presence and crafting compelling digital distribution and awards strategies.
How will you be taught?
- Analysis of tools and techniques for the contemporary marketing & PR landscapes – asking WWRRD
- Methods for understanding media-savvy audiences with their fast-changing appetites—we will analyse Ryan’s fandom as one example
- Examine Case studies to help you tailor Film distribution strategies for audiences without compromising your vision – Ryan never does
Who should attend?
Whether breaking into the industry or enhancing your skills, this program covers market trends, digital marketing, partnerships, PR challenges, social media optimisation, and awards navigation for long-term relevance and recognition. Whether or not you are Ryan Reynolds fan.
